HMS Maori

Last remaining fragments of HMS Maori, sunk at her moorings in the Grand Harbour by German aircraft 79 years ago yesterday, 12 February 1942. She was raised to be scuttled in Marsamxett harbour but broke in two during the tow and only the forward structure made, with the aft section being abandoned outside the Grand Harbour in deeper water.
